In any event, I could see why people would be curious about the cause of a string of crashes... and it's entirely reasonable that people would test a serious bug they suspect they've discovered before reporting it so that they can explain it in detail. It takes staggering levels of poor judgment, however, to repeatedly perform such 'tests' in highly populated outposts, and share that information with other players.
Mind, I don't doubt that many people did so in poor judgment rather than having malicious intent... It's just not necessarily as much of a defense as one might hope.

Me losing an account I have worked on since august 2005 and spent a lot of money on isnt as insignificant as someone losing an hour of game play and a few items. This potentially may lose me all my HoM items for GW2 as well. If you want to call what I did a crime then it was a crime of ignorance. Its akin to lighting a match to smoke when there's a gas leak. I smelled something funny but I never smelled gas before in my life so I lit the match. Thankfully no one was hurt but I was charged and sentenced to death anyways.

Wow, you have NO defense in this subject...at the time this stuff was happening you were posting multiple times in a thread on guru basically laughing at people who were saying crashing the servers is a bad thing. It's basic common sense that if you go onto a game that is played by thousands on people and crash parts of the game with a ton of people in it there should be some fallout. Of course you disregarded that and did it anyway, it seems we need to call the wambulance.

If you get a perma ban, then it won't be because you made one person lose an hour and a few items. It will be because you did something much worse eg. made entire districts of people lose an hour each + items, and multiple times.

I have no sympathy. If you did the deed, then you were an ass. Anyone with an ounce of common sense, wouldn't have tried it (Or "tested" it. pfft)
If you did enough to earn a perma-ban... then you had to be an ass BIG TIME, you deserve it, and you should have thought of the consequences BEFORE you did the crime.
On the other hand, if what you did was limited in effect, then I don't think you have to fear a perma-ban.
BTW, I have to laugh at people pointing to worse things that happen in GW, as if that absolves their guilt. It doesn't, two Wrongs don't make a Right.

You serious buddy?
first off, you have no right to just assume that everyone in my guild was doing that crap, and secondly, how do you know that someone in your guild wasn't doing it? So you should get banned then too? Maybe you had even done it. I was one of the 1st people to find out about the bug and I kept it at a low only telling close friends how it was done.
Sure I'm deserving of a ban, but so are those few who 'tested it out for the lolz'.
because I pretty much tested it out for the lolz, too.
I can't tell you how much I despise individuals like you.

You just press B then click on the HA match. Doing this will crash all the districts in your current location.

brb doing it all for a laugh
brb trolling people & upsetting them knowingly
brb teaching others how to crash the servers
brb its all good, anet can do a whole server rollback. They've done what, 2? in 7 years. lets just crash it all and let everyone else have to play all their shit again due to a rollback.
You knew exactly what you were doing, pls go.

I was being disconnected right and left from other people in Kamadan and it was so frequent I had to laugh for a moment, therefore it became funny. So if you're going to pull a bunch of meaningless posts together and point the blame finger at me without any solid proof you're just an insinuating moron.
BTW If I was one of the assholes who were doing it with malicious intent I would have been banned already.
I also did no harm in telling people on here what the root cause was, all I did was confirm how people were causing it and people were spreading it around in game anyways, which is something I did not take part in(in game).

Really? Are you 100% sure that Anet has banned every single account that they wanted to and that they are no longer investigating this incident? I seem to remember the fun of the last mass banning. They banned around 3000 accounts in a very short time period back then after investigating for quite some time to get them all at once didn't they?
I mean If I personally would have tested that crash bug onec or twice... maybe even 2 or 3 times... but 3 or 4 times? But alas, Im afraid that I wasnt even online at the time that this was happening.
Phew... its looking a little shakey there Mate. Id personally not keep my fingers far away from the Screenshot botton for a while... you never know when the Grim reaper will pop up with a green circle around your char.
That aside, you must be right. nothing will come from this. No worries at all there. Everything is just Peachie .
While were at it, here's a link to a nice relaxing Youtube video of a PvP Match for you for a treat as you seem to be missing the observe mode so much;

I can't log on period so I assume so. Although I was unaware of this bug a couple of days ago because I was working....guess the update didn't help.

Let's cover this then:
So this was done by a rouge member? Let's review the Screen Shot: In addition to the member with your exact guild tag, I see another person with a [Lod] tag nearby saying and I quote "ahhhhahahaha" right after another person asks the member of YOUR guild to stop. Does the member of your guild stop? No, he continues to count down to the disconnection. Does this [Lod] tag have any relation to your guild? An alliance member perhaps?
So based on this I am not going to assume, I am going to believe the hard visual evidence which clearly shows that more that one person from your alliance are involved. And you also state in your response that you "shared" this info with "close friends" in your guild. Thanks for the additional information further making the case for banning your guild. IMO if your guild allows this kind of behavior they should be banned.
What the hell is I "PRETTY MUCH" tested it out? Either you did or you did not, there is no PRETTY MUCH. If your guild is full of other people like yourself (birds of a feather) who did this for the "LOLZ" then I truly hope ANET removes your whole guild.
Hopefully ANET will reward you with a perma ban for "being one of the first to find out about the bug" Your actions obviously caused this whole problem. Instead of doing the right thing and informing ANET you told your friends who shared it with everyone else so you all could have some "LOLZ". No very "LOLZ" now is it.
Considering that my previous guild disbanded while I was deployed in Iraq and now I have a guild with only myself as a member I can tell you with 100%certainty that noone in my guild used the exploit to grief anyone. I will not be banned. Nice try though.
Finally, I CAN tell you how much I despise people like you that would do this for the "LOLZ" your infantile attitude and complete lack of respect for others makes me sick.
p.s. you would have been better off not posting again, you are digging your own grave.
Don't believe me here is the SS with the names blanked out.gw212.jpg

Nice troll attempt but not gonna work. BTW dhuum pops up for 3 day bans as well and it was stated on the support forums they would only be looking into banning people over the next couple of days. They even said they would talk about how severe the bans would be for certain people.
